STORY OF A MILK CHURN

I'm often asked how I go about finding things to paint and what sort of state items have to be in to be painted up. This is an example of one of my restoration projects - as you can see it was in a sad state when it was found, but lots of work and six weeks later it was finished and ready for sale. This particular churn was last seen standing proudly in its new home on the back of a narrow boat at Little Venice in London.

A sad picture - milk churn found in a pile of junk to be dumped

Now cleaned of rust and treated with anti-rust base paint

Painted with an oil-based grey undercoat

The green bands added in high gloss enamel

Churn body painted with high gloss black enamel

Added roses and castle panels ...

... and more roses panels ...

... and smart red handles ...

... and the lettering picked out in black on the top band

I hope you have enjoyed seeing how this item was transformed and given a whole new lease of life.
